Whenever the word "the" appears
at the beginning of an entity's name, it is not indexed. The ampersand (&)
is the only symbol used in our index. No other symbols are
used; this includes commas, dashes, and periods.
Note that names are indexed as they are shown on the documents,
except for some standard abbreviations.
Remember that legal documents
often refer to individuals by legal name instead of by nickname.
Initials are indexed without periods.
Any time you search Official Records be aware that we have a
large number of documents, so it is best to be as specific as
possible to minimize the names you must page through.
